Report turnaround time depends on clinical urgency.
Many reports are issued on the same day, often within minutes to 24 hours. For governance and safety purposes, Comfort Scan has advised regulators that reports may take up to 48 hours.
Patients are supported before and after their scan, and findings are explained within professional scope. Ultrasound does not replace GP or hospital care. If you find yourself unsure about the scan you need to book, please feel free to call us or email us.
It is normal to feel anxious, and we are here to make you feel comfortable and ease your concerns. The practitioner will explain everything before starting and you can ask to pause or stop the scan at any time; you are always in control.
Our equipment is mobile and compact. We do not require a lot of space for a scan, the practitioners and chaperone can set up wherever you feel comfortable. If you have any additional requirements before the scan, please let us know so we can accommodate you.
Some scans need preparation, such as fasting or drinking water beforehand. You will be told clearly at the time of booking if any preparation is needed.
We are here to support you and help you throughout your experience with us. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us so we can assist you.
Comfort Scan operates a structured quality assurance and clinical audit framework.
During the initial phase of service development, 100% of ultrasound reports were reviewed by both a radiologist and an experienced senior sonographer. Ongoing quality assurance now includes regular random audits of reports, typically at least 10% per month.
Audit outcomes are used for learning, feedback, and continuous improvement. Practitioners also engage in regular CPD, training updates, and specialist masterclasses.
